About the event

Presented by Kayelene Kerr from eSafeKids, this evidence-based workshop is filled with up-to-date information, real world examples, practical strategies, conversation starters and resources to support you.

The ubiquity of the internet and portable electronic devices has transformed the way pornography is accessed and how pornography accesses children and young people. Consequently, children and young people are growing up in a world where it’s impossible to avoid sexualised media and pornography.

If we don’t create safe spaces for children and young people to ask questions about relationships and sexuality, we leave them to interpret online content and influencers without guidance and support. Our silence creates a vacuum, one that harmful and even illegal content is all too ready to fill.

This session will present an overview of the research, examine the impacts on children and young people and offer practical guidance on what effective and age-appropriate education and conversations can look…
